Katrina Broussard, a 27-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on February 13, 2017, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Katrina was found dead from a gunshot wound in her apartment on Guilbeau Road. The incident was a murder-suicide, with her boyfriend, Oris Briggs, 29, as the perpetrator. After killing Katrina, Briggs fled the scene and was later found dead in his car in Kaplan from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
