In the fall of 2017, a dispute that began over the telephone would ultimately lead to the untimely death of 24-year-old Terren L. Zeno, a male resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The incident unfolded on the evening of Wednesday, October 4th, when Zeno was involved in a heated verbal exchange with an individual at a home located on Opelousas Street.
Following the phone call, Zeno, accompanied by another man, proceeded to drive to the residence to confront the person with whom he had been arguing.
Upon their arrival, they were met by another man, 32-year-old Patrick W. Green, who had also just arrived at the scene. An altercation quickly erupted outside the home between the men. As the confrontation escalated, Green retreated into the house. Zeno, in an attempt to continue the altercation, tried to force his way inside the residence. It was at this moment that Green discharged a firearm, striking Zeno.
Law enforcement and emergency services were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:00 p.m. Inside the home, they discovered Terren L. Zeno, who had succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. Following an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting, detectives from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Patrick W. Green. He was subsequently charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of Terren L. Zeno.
