In the early morning hours of November 1, 2017, the life of Eddie Celestine, a 31-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short in his native New Orleans. The incident unfolded just after 2 a.m. in the 6800 block of Cindy Place in New Orleans East. Responding to reports of gunfire, police officers arrived to find Celestine outside a home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
