In the autumn of 2017, the life of 38-year-old Ernest Samuel Miller of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. On the afternoon of November 8, 2017, Miller was shot multiple times at the intersection of Mill and Ryan streets in downtown Lake Charles. He sustained two bullet wounds, one to his arm and another that pierced his back and heart.
