On the evening of Christmas Day in 2017, a resident of Monroe, Louisiana, D'Angelo Robinson, a 31-year-old African American male, was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. at the Shadow Forest Apartments located on McKeen Place. Robinson, the owner of an auto body repair business in the community, sustained injuries that ultimately led to his death, casting a somber shadow over the holiday.
