In the late hours of a Thursday evening in Lafayette, Louisiana, the sound of gunfire shattered the night, leading to the tragic discovery of 24-year-old Marisha M. Felix. Officers responded to reports of shots fired and found a vehicle that had crashed, its exterior riddled with bullet holes. Inside, they found Felix, a female resident of Lafayette, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into her violent death quickly progressed. The following day, a 17-year-old male was apprehended by authorities without incident. He was subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Marisha M. Felix.
