On March 31, 2017, An Vinh Nguyen, a 27-year-old Vietnamese-American male and University of Houston student, was last seen leaving a friend's residence in northwest Harris County, Texas. His disappearance prompted extensive searches and investigations. Over a year later, on April 23, 2018, his remains were discovered in a wooded area in the 14000 block of Whistling Pines Drive in northwest Harris County.
