In the spring of 2018, a dispute in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, tragically cut short the life of 45-year-old Marcus Clay. On the evening of May 20th, in the 1800 block of North Harco Drive, Clay was discovered with gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Marcus Clay succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Investigators from the Baton Rouge Police Department began to piece together the events of that night, believing the shooting stemmed from an altercation. Their investigation soon pointed to a suspect, a man identified as 45-year-old Lionel Porter.
With the help of tips from the community through Crime Stoppers, law enforcement was able to locate Porter. He was apprehended in West Feliciana Parish on the morning of June 1st. Following his arrest, Porter was set to be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Marcus Clay.
