In the late spring of 2018, the community of Abbeville, Louisiana, was shaken by a violent act that claimed the life of 26-year-old Heikeem Jaleel Hebert. On the evening of May 26th, the sound of gunfire pierced the air near the intersection of South East and 7th Streets. When police arrived, they discovered a vehicle that had crashed, and inside, they found Hebert, who had been fatally wounded by gunshots.
