In the quiet community of New Roads, Louisiana, the life of 18-year-old Jaelan Fowler was tragically cut short on March 27, 2019. A young man with his future ahead of him, Fowler was found with a gunshot wound to the head on Pecan Drive near St. Augustine Street. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation into the shooting led to the arrest of 19-year-old Javon Battiste. He was taken into custody and faced serious charges ...
