On February 18, 2015, in New Roads, Louisiana, siblings Senica Williams and LeChelle Rita Williams were fatally shot in a tragic incident. LeChelle, a 42-year-old African American woman born on January 8, 1973, was a native of New Roads. She was the daughter of the late Elbert Lee Williams Sr. and Barbara Williams Parker.
