On the evening of March 1, 2020, Louis “Scooter” Cryer, a 28-year-old male, was on Cambridge Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, when a vehicle approached. An unidentified person inside the car opened fire, striking Cryer multiple times in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred around 7:41 p.m. in the 6700 block of the street.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital to treat the gunshot wounds.
Tragically, the injuries proved to be fatal, and he later died at the hospital.
The Baton Rouge Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide. In the days following the shooting, law enforcement urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact the Violent Crimes Unit or Crime Stoppers. At the time, authorities had not identified a suspect or a motive for the shooting, and the investigation was ongoing. There have been no subsequent public announcements regarding any arrests or suspects in the death of Louis 'Scooter' Cryer.
