Arthur Netter, 28, a Black man from New Orleans, was shot on the evening of May 4, 2020, in the Central City area. Just before 8:45 p.m., police were called to the 2100 block of Fourth Street after reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found him wounded by at least one gunshot. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries later that night, turning what began as a frantic medical emergency into a homicide investigation.
