In the evening hours of May 13, 2020, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a young Black man named Trent Jones, who was 18 years old, was shot and killed. The incident unfolded on San Juan Drive, where Jones had arranged to meet with another individual to conduct a firearm transaction.

During the meeting, a dispute broke out between Jones and 17-year-old Daylon Banks. The argument escalated, and Banks allegedly shot Jones. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found Jones with gunshot wounds. ...
