Devonte "D-Man" Bryant, a 9-year-old African American boy, tragically lost his life on July 13, 2020, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Devonte was killed in a triple shooting that occurred just outside his home on Pauger Street in the Seventh Ward. The incident also left two other young teens injured. Devonte was not the intended target of the shooting, and his death has left his family and community devastated.
