On February 7, 2007, Damian Lackland, aged 26, was found fatally shot near the Mount Hope Cemetery in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. Responding to a call around 6:30 a.m., Boston Police discovered Lackland’s body on Walk Hill Street with an apparent gunshot wound. His death marked another tragic homicide in a year that saw a troubling amount of gun violence in the city.
