In the winter of 2021, the life of 16-year-old James A. Jarreau III was tragically cut short in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A sophomore at Capitol Senior High School, he was a young man with his future stretching out before him. On Tuesday, January 5, 2021, Jarreau became the victim of gun violence, marking the city's first homicide of the new year. His death was felt deeply by his family and friends, who remembered him as a funny and loving individual.
