In the quiet town of Mer Rouge, Louisiana, a tragic event unfolded on the evening of January 17, 2021, ending the life of 39-year-old Joshua L. Comer. A white male and a respected assistant professor, Comer was fatally shot at his residence. His death was the result of a violent altercation that also left his father-in-law deceased in what authorities have determined to be a murder-suicide.
