In the early evening of November 9, 2021, the life of 18-year-old Mikhi Spears, a male student at Scotlandville Magnet High School, was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The shooting occurred around 7:06 p.m. at an apartment complex located at 10008 Ave L. Responding officers found Spears at the scene, where he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite immediate attention, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the location of the incident.
Born in New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge, Mikhi was the second oldest of six siblings. His family and friends remember him as a beloved individual. In the days following his death, the Baton Rouge Police Department announced an investigation into the homicide.
