In the late autumn of 2021, the life of 29-year-old Jessica Lee was brought to a tragic and violent end in her Monroe, Louisiana apartment. On November 15th, officers from the Monroe Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Evangeline Street to investigate a report of a suspicious death. Inside, they discovered Jessica Lee, who had sustained at least one fatal gunshot wound.
The case was immediately classified as a homicide, prompting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
As detectives began to piece together the events leading up to the discovery, their investigation led them to identify a primary suspect: Jessica's boyfriend, Nelson Bridges. With Bridges having fled the area, law enforcement agencies collaborated to locate him. The search for Bridges extended beyond Louisiana, culminating in his apprehension in Houston, Texas, by U.S. Marshals.
Following his arrest, Nelson Bridges was extradited back to Louisiana to face legal proceedings in connection with Jessica Lee's murder. He was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center as the sole suspect in the case. The investigation, which drew significant public attention, involved numerous leads and appeals for information from the community to ensure that justice would be served for Jessica Lee.
