Jezmine Battie, a 32-year-old African American woman, was found dead on December 4, 2021, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her body was discovered in the grass on the 1700 block of Florida Boulevard with an apparent gunshot wound. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office immediately launched an investigation into her death, treating it as a homicide.
