In the early morning hours of Saturday, March 5, 2022, a wave of violence swept through Monroe, Louisiana, leaving a trail of bloodshed that claimed the life of 46-year-old Edward Daron Patrick, a Black male. His death was one of two homicides that weekend, a grim period that also saw five other individuals fall victim to gunfire in separate incidents, shaking the community and placing a heavy burden on local law enforcement.
