Matthew Richard Wiggins, a 43-year-old African American male from Lutcher, LA, tragically lost his life on March 8, 2022. The incident occurred late at night when Wiggins answered a knock at the door of his residence on Lionel Washington Street. Upon opening the door, he was shot and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The St. James Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the report of the shooting at approximately 11:41 PM.
