In the quiet pre-dawn hours of November 23, 2022, in Grambling, Louisiana, the life of Eric Richardson, a 28-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. As he was preparing to leave his residence on Harris Street for work around 4:30 a.m., he was involved in a verbal altercation with an unidentified Black male. The argument, which took place in the parking lot, tragically escalated, culminating in gunfire.
Grambling Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting multiple gunshots
and discovered Richardson unresponsive beside his idling vehicle. He had sustained several gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Despite the immediate efforts of emergency medical personnel, Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln Parish Coroner's Office.
Investigators with the Grambling Police Department believe that robbery may have been a motive in the homicide, as they discovered that some of Richardson's personal valuables were missing from his person. The investigation into this fatal shooting remains ongoing, and as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
