Damarius Murphy, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on October 13, 2021, in a shooting incident at Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. The incident occurred during a period of heightened violence on the campus, which saw two fatal shootings within four days. Murphy, who was from Rayville, Louisiana, was not a student at the university. The shooting also resulted in the injury of a 16-year-old juvenile, also from Rayville.
