Frank Holmes, a 35-year-old white male, was a patrolman with the Granite City Police Department in Illinois. On July 30, 1902, he tragically lost his life in the line of duty. The incident occurred around 2:00 am when Patrolman Holmes responded to a suspicious person complaint at the Union Hotel. Upon arrival, he discovered that the suspect had already left the premises.
