Officer Tyler Timmins, a 36-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on October 26, 2021, in Granite City, Illinois. Timmins, who was serving with the Pontoon Beach Police Department, was shot while investigating a suspected stolen vehicle at a Speedway gas station. As he approached the vehicle, the suspect, later identified as Scott Hyden, a 31-year-old white male from Highland, Illinois, opened fire, striking Officer Timmins in the face and neck.
