Corey Ayers, a 48-year-old male from Granite City, Illinois, tragically lost his life on May 21, 2022, due to a fatal shooting. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Edwards Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Corey Ayers suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Ayers succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
