Patrolman Thomas Edward Tighe, aged 34, of the Chicago Police Department's 24th Precinct, tragically died on February 10, 1911, as a result of injuries sustained during an arrest. On the night of January 10, 1911, Officer Tighe responded to a complaint from a woman who reported being insulted by three men at the corner of Hastings and Leavitt Streets.
