Constable Robert G. Chasteen, aged 38, was shot and killed on August 19, 1911, in Ullin, Illinois. He was a law enforcement officer with the Ullin Police Department. Chasteen's death occurred when he was shot by the father of a man he had arrested earlier that day for disorderly conduct. The incident took place outside a local bar, where the suspect shot Chasteen through the front window.
