Michael Saunders, a 42-year-old African American man from Homer Glen, Illinois, was tragically shot to death on June 25, 1994. His death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Saunders was found with a bullet wound to the head in Calumet Park, and he was pronounced dead around 3 a.m. on that fateful Monday. The circumstances surrounding his killing remain unclear, and no immediate arrests were made following the incident.
