Marcus Baldy London, a 19-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on July 27, 2011, in the Washington Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 12:55 a.m. on the 6000 block of South Prairie Avenue. Marcus was shot in the head while another man, who was with him at the time, sustained a gunshot wound to his ankle. Both victims were on the street when the shooting took place. Marcus was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital.
