Charles A. Brown IV, a 20-year-old African American male, was fatally shot by Harvey police officers on April 13, 2014, in Harvey, Illinois. The incident occurred when officers responded to an armed robbery in progress at a Motel 6. Upon arrival, the officers encountered Brown in a vehicle. According to police reports, Brown attempted to run over the officers, prompting them to fire their weapons in self-defense.
