On the evening of April 22, 2014, tragedy struck the small community of Washington Park, Illinois, as 19-year-old Lamont D. Gregory lost his life in a senseless act of violence. Lamont, a young man with his whole future ahead of him, was outside the Crown Mart convenience store when the deadly attack unfolded. What should have been an ordinary night in his hometown turned into a horrific event that would forever change the lives of his family, friends, and community.
