She suffered a gunshot wound to the head, leading to her death at the scene. A female passenger in the minivan was unharmed, while a male passenger fled on foot before police arrived.
Authorities described a silver Dodge Intrepid as a vehicle of interest in the case.
Jasmine's family was devastated by the loss. Her father, Pierre Curry, expressed profound grief, noting that this tragedy occurred less than a year after his 17-year-old son, Pierce Curry, was also shot and killed in a drive-by shooting. Jasmine's mother, LaTonia Mardis, recounted that Jasmine had left her children with her shortly before the incident.
