Lavenal Cobbins, a 47-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot and killed on January 21, 2021, in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in an alley in the 100 block of East 118th Place around 9:50 p.m. Lavenal Cobbins was found with a gunshot wound to her head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed her identity and ruled her death a homicide following an autopsy.
