Michael Bankston III, a 25-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on September 17, 2021, in Chicago, Illinois. Bankston was fatally shot in the Logan Square neighborhood while attempting to assist a woman involved in a domestic dispute. Witnesses reported that Bankston intervened when he saw a man, later identified as 22-year-old Jesus Garcia, physically assaulting his girlfriend.
