Emma Wright, a 71-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on December 20, 2020, in her home located in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. when two assailants fired multiple rounds into her house from the backyard. Wright was struck by bullets in the head, left arm, right shoulder, and right hand. She was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn shortly after the shooting.
