Kenyon Logan, a 22-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on March 22, 2015, in East St. Louis, Illinois. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Wimmer Place, where Logan was fatally shot in the head. The investigation into his death revealed that Kendall Williams, an 18-year-old male from East St. Louis, was responsible for the shooting. Williams was subsequently charged with one count of murder by the St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office.
He remains in custody at the St. Clair County Jail with bail set at $500,000.
The case against Williams is part of a broader investigation that also involves charges of armed robbery. On the same day as Logan's murder, Williams and another individual, Melvin T. Blue, were charged with two counts of armed robbery. They were accused of robbing Roderick Hawkins and Demarco Hawkins at gunpoint at a convenience store located at 18th and State Street in East St. Louis. Blue, who was 21 years old at the time, is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a parole violation, with bail set at $250,000.
