Louis Walker, a 28-year-old African American man, was tragically shot on April 7, 2015, in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Walker was sitting in the driver's seat of his car on the 4700 block of North Broadway when an assailant in another vehicle opened fire, critically wounding him. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Walker succumbed to his injuries a month later on May 7, 2015. The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled his death a homicide.
