Do you know who murdered Kenneth? In the late hours of a Sunday evening in February 2014, the life of 25-year-old Kenneth Michael Rowell Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short on Itasca Street in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. On February 20th, authorities responded to the area to find Rowell suffering from gunshot wounds outside a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
From Dorchester, Kenneth was born in Boston on September 29, 1988, to Eleanor Mendes and the late Kenneth Michael Rowell.
At the time of his death, he was the loving father of one daughter, Kaylee Mich'elle Rowell, and was expecting the birth of his second child, Kennedy Milani Rowell. He is also survived by his seven sisters and other family members and friends.
The Boston Police Department identified Rowell as the victim of the fatal shooting. Despite the ongoing investigation into the homicide, no arrests have been made in connection with his death, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case remains unsolved, leaving a void in the lives of his family and community. A viewing and funeral service were held for him at the Greater Love Tabernacle in Dorchester, followed by his interment at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
