In the late hours of a Sunday evening in February 2014, the life of 25-year-old Kenneth Michael Rowell Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short on Itasca Street in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston. On February 20th, authorities responded to the area to find Rowell suffering from gunshot wounds outside a residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
