Anton McDaniels Jr., a 14-year-old African American boy, was tragically shot on June 11, 2015, in East St. Louis, Illinois. Anton was walking home after a baseball game with his team when he and a 16-year-old boy were shot in a housing complex where Anton lived. Anton succumbed to his injuries three days later, while the other boy survived.
