Joseph Gaithers, a 35-year-old male, was fatally shot on July 8, 2015, in the Chatham neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. when Gaithers was talking with another person in the 8000 block of South King Drive. According to the Cook County medical examiner's office, Gaithers succumbed to his injuries from the shooting.
