Do you know who murdered Antoine Dingle-Knight?
On a summer evening in Boston, the life of a young Black man, 27-year-old Antoine Marquis Dingle-Knight, was tragically cut short. On August 11, 2014, at approximately 9:32 p.m., gunshots shattered the night on Devon Street in the Dorchester neighborhood. When police officers from the B-2 district arrived at the scene in front of 93 Devon Street, they found Dingle-Knight suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but sadly, he was later pronounced deceased.
The Boston Police Department's Homicide Unit immediately launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. In the initial stages of the investigation, authorities were reportedly looking for two Black men wearing hoodies who were seen leaving an alley across the street before opening fire. The case was officially ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Years have passed since Antoine Dingle-Knight's death, yet his case remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made. The pain of this unresolved loss continues to deeply affect his family. His mother, Annetta Dingle-Smith, has publicly expressed her anguish and frustration with the lack of progress in the investigation. She voiced a heart-wrenching sentiment, stating, "It's just another black statistic in Roxbury." Her words highlight the family's feeling that the case has not received the attention it deserves. The Boston Police Department continues to ask for the public's help with any information regarding the murder of Antoine Dingle-Knight.
