In the early hours of a Friday morning in Boston, on July 21, 2006, tragedy struck on Dorchester Avenue. Hilary Page Green, a 20-year-old male from Dorchester, was shot and killed at 1:13 a.m. outside 1921 Dorchester Avenue. When police responded to a call for shots fired, they discovered three men in their twenties suffering from gunshot wounds. While two of the victims were transported to the hospital in critical condition, Green was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later confirmed that the cause of his death was a gunshot wound and ruled it a homicide.
Hilary, who also resided in Mattapan, was a father to a young son. He was the beloved son of Curley Green Jr. and the late Beverly Crutchfield Green. His death left a void in the lives of his family, including his brother and sister. A funeral service was held for him on July 27, 2006, at the Twelfth Baptist Church in Roxbury, followed by his burial at Oaklawn Cemetery in Roslindale.
