On the afternoon of May 22, 2023, a shocking act of violence cut short the life of Daniel Thomas Mayers, a 33-year-old Black/African American man. Just before 5 p.m., Boston police responded to reports of gunfire on Columbia Road in the Dorchester neighborhood.
