Charles Johnson, a 33-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on October 31, 2015, in Rockford, Illinois. The incident occurred in the early hours of Halloween when Johnson, who was working as a cab driver, responded to a call for a ride. Upon arriving at the intersection of Avon and Blaisdell Streets, he was robbed and subsequently shot by an unknown assailant. The motive behind the crime appeared to be robbery, as Johnson's personal belongings were taken during the incident.
