Jacob Kyle Morrissey, a 26-year-old white male, died on December 1, 2015, in Rantoul, Illinois. Morrissey was involved in a standoff with the Champaign County Sheriff's Office that ended in his apparent suicide. The standoff began after Morrissey entered a home in St. Joseph and shot its occupants. The Champaign County Coroner, Duane Northrup, confirmed that Morrissey died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
