Carlos B. Navarrete Jr., a 24-year-old Hispanic male from Rantoul, Illinois, tragically lost his life on February 26, 2022. He was pronounced dead at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Sunday at a local hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound. The incident occurred late Saturday night around 11:45 p.m. on Garrard Street. The Champaign County Coroner, Duane Northrup, confirmed that Navarrete Jr. died from the gunshot wound, and an autopsy was scheduled to be performed at the Champaign County Regional ...
