Joseph Harden, an 18-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 2, 2016, in Markham, Illinois. Joseph was walking near the intersection of Richmond and Sherwood avenues around 11 p.m. on June 1 when he was shot once in the back. He succumbed to his injuries the following day at the hospital. The incident occurred in a residential area, and the sudden violence shocked the local community, which is not typically known for such severe crimes.
